The Sydney Craft & Quilts Fair that took place last June 22-26
The Sydney Craft & Quilts Fair that took place last June 22-26 was held for the last time on Glebe Island before it returns to terra firma in 2017 in the brand new Convention Centre, nearing completion in the precinct of Darling Harbour.
The Quilters’ Guild of New South Wales Inc. (NSW) is in charge of running the show, as it is every year, displaying more than 400 quilts made by its members. Ranging from traditional to pictorial, and including Modern Quilts, from the largest to the smallest, we were once again charmed by the creativity and abundant colour in these quilts.
Young artist Rachaeldaisy received several awards, including Best of Show and the 1st prize in the Mixed Techniques category for her quilt Whizz Bang.
Congratulations to our friend Cécile Franconie: she was the guest of honor of the Sydney Quilt show.
She came from France especially for this event and achieved great success with her wonderful ribbon embroidery work.
