There were over 40 participants. At this event 160 quilts and textiles were on view, most of them American pieces, including some from Hawaii, but also some English, Russian, Chinese and Persian, selected from the Museum’s collection. The tops of these pieces all contained bright red. Whether it was composed of pieces combined with white, in the form of printed swatches, worked into patchwork, appliquéd or embroidered, these quilts had a lovely red colour in common.

This small marvel that evokes the famous Middle Eastern confection was entirely constructed using the EPP (English Paper-Piecing) method. The blocks, skilfully laid out according to colour, create very interesting framing effects and the fabric choice is truly elegant.
